It has been a busy couple of weeks again. New job is keeping me busy. Last weekend my children were home for the weekend. We went to Karaoke at the bar I work. It was fun. I have a talented family. Wonder where they got that from! LOL. I have started to bowl again. I am going to bowl a tournament this sunday in the twin cities with both my kids. I have no chance to win, but it should be fun. I went and practiced last night after work and bowled a 298 game. Not bad for not much practice. I am now back running the Sunday night bar poker game. I have missed running them. It is nice to have the extra cash and see people that I haven't seen much this summer. I am thinking of bringing back the St Cloud Series of Poker. It was an event that I ran two years ago that was very successful. I have a few ideas on how to do it and will give more details when I get it more concrete. Went fishing for a couple of hours on Monday. Fishing is good right now with the weather cool. I caught two walleyes, a nice northern, several sunfish and lost a big bass at the boat when I reached for the net. It was fun. Debbie and I are heading up tonight, so hopefully the fishing holds up. I would love to have a fresh walleye dinner on Thursday. Hope to be able to post more soon. I am playing in a few of the Heartland Poker events at Milacs in a couple of weeks that should give me more to write about. |

Update

Been a while!
Can't get it to add on so I will post it on the side!
It has certainly been a while, I have been very busy with a new job and being in my Brother in-laws wedding. Here is an update including recent poker playing.
I started a new job two weeks ago. I am now the kitchen manager of the Other Bar in Foley, yes that is what it's called. So far I am very happy. It is a small town family run business that serves great food at reasonable prices. My challenge is to get them to make more profit from their food business. It's about a 20 minute drive from my house so not too bad. Those of you that live in a metro area are laughing at my about a 20 minute drive, but it's quite away for where I live.
Last weekend was my brother in-laws wedding. Don't you know that it has been cool all summer long here and when you are in an outdoor wedding it's the hottest day of the summer. We were out in our tuxes for two hours during the heat of the afternoon taking pictures, but we all survived!. It was a great intimate affair. Brad's cousin from Oregon is a pastor and perfomed the wedding and his uncle a retired paster did a reading. I was an usher and in charge of video taping. I hope it turned out!!! I would feel bad if it didn't. The best part was that the rain held out until after the wedding was over. Just as the wedding party left it started to spinkle. The dance music was done by my friend Mark from Fineline Entertainment and he did a great job. It was fun having a few beers and dancing the night away. Yes, that what I said, I danced the night away! LOL! My kids still don't believe it! The only glick of the night was when a storm went by to the north and we all had to in the basement because of a tornado warning. I took alot of pictures that you can see on my facebook page.
Now on to poker. I went to the casino a week ago to bring my Bar poker players for their buy-in. We brought about 12 people and there was only 28 total players, so it was a good thing we went. I was on the worst poker table that I have ever played on and I have been on a lot of bad tables playing bar poker. We had a new dealer that made a lot of mistakes and then I was nextto a player that spent several minutes on each hand before folding or calling. In the first hour and fifteen minutes I was the big blind twice. I was card dead all night and only won one hand, but it was a big one. I was under the gun with Q-J suited and limped in. It was checked around with 4 callers. Flop was K-10-7 all clubs. I check thinking I have an open ended straight draw. Slow guy moves all in. I laugh and tell him that if I have a club I am going to call. At this time I don't remember what suit it was. I look down and it is clubs, so I move all in. Everyone else folds, I turn over my flush with a royal and straight flush draw. Slow guy has a pair and no club. He is basically drawing dead. To top it off the A of clubs comes on the river to give me a royal flush. So I won one hand all night and it was with a royal flush!
Sunday night I was running my bar poker game with a fairly small crowd. Someone wanted to take to me about something as the first hand was being dealt. I am standing at the table and announce that I am going to fold unless I have a hand to talk to guy. I look down at pocket 10's. I sit down and tell everyone that this is a tell me playing this hand and raise 3 times the big blind. There are 5 or 6 callers. Flop is 5-7-9 rainbow. I bet 1200 and guy next to me calls. Now he is not the brightest bulb on the tree and I figure he has hit the 9. Turn is another under, so I bet 1200. He calls. River is a Q so I bet 1200 and he calls and turns over 6-8 offsuit for the nut straight. So I lose most of my chips on the first hand that I wasn't even going to play. A few hands later I move all-in with A-Q and get called by A-K and am the first one out of the tournament. Thank god the WSOP was on TV so I had something to do until tournament was over.
Monday night. I decided to go play a bar poker game that usually is not very good. I won a few hands early and made a few chips, then I went on a two hour card rush. I took ten or more players out and accumulated a massive stack. It was fun. I played big stack bully to the max. I made it to final table as the chip leader. All good things must come to an end and my rush finally finsihed. I still had good cards I just started losing hands. The finally hand my friend Steve a good player raised preflop on the button, I wouldn't expect him to do anything else. I move all-in with A-10 of hearts. He calls with aces and I am out in 4th place good for a T-shirt that I would never wear. LOL! It's been a long time since I was able to play big stack poker. It was a lot of fun. It's just hard to slow down when you are running hot. Oh well, live and learn!
Here's a wedding photo.
