Jim Wang Charity Event

Last weekend was the 2nd annual Jim Wang Memorial Charity event sponsored by the CMPPA. It was a fun day. We managed to raise $1010 for the American Cancer Society. Numbers were down a bit from last year with only 63 players. McCann's once again donated a lunch that was very good and we sold it for $6. We also had a silent auction with people bringing in items. The poker tournament itself was rather secondary on this day, but I think people had a good time. Started with 10,000 in chips with 20 minute blinds. My poker day was rather short as I rivered a flush into a flopped full house to lose a lot of my chip stack. I did mange one double up and then finally pushed in with JJ only to find the big blind with KK. There were several interesting hands, but the one that stands out the most was midway through a table ended up with KK, QQ & JJ all in preflop. The QQ ended up catching a queen to take a big pot. Thanks to all that helped to make this event possible. McCann's Brewpub for thier continued sponsorship of bar poker & the CMPPA. The American Cancer Society for coming on board this year. Ann Kennedy for all her help contacting and promoting the event and all the CMPPA members that help make the event a success!

As many of you already know, I have been given a promotion at work that will be cutting into my playing and running of bar poker games. I will do my best to keep updating my blog as much as possible but it may contain a little less poker then in the past. I hope you continue to check it out as I have had a great time bringing you the stories of my life.
